More About Stobs

Welcome! My name is Stobs, or Ava. I'm a 17-year-old voice over artist based in Ontario, Canada.I've loved performance arts for years prior to my voice acting career. When I was in the 3rd grade, I fell in love with singing. I began taking lessons for a short period of time before stopping due to a lack of confidence. Stage fright certainly hindered me all throughout elementary. When I began high school, after years of self-doubt, I decided to try out for my school's yearly musical production. To my surprise, I was casted as a small role with only two or three lines. This was the beginning of my love for musical theatre. Before this, I simply watched musicals on my TV, (or 'slime tutorials' for my cultured friends ;P) but after being in one, my love for acting increased ten-fold, and it's been going strong ever since. I even began taking weekly one-on-one vocal lessons again. I loved musical theatre so much, in fact, that is my focus in college! Sure, I'll be broke in the future, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. :)As for voice acting, I had a start in it in the 9th grade, when I was 13. I call it a 'start', but my largest role at the time was a fandub in a discord server with 100 members. Not exactly professional level, but at the time, I took what I could get. For close to a year I kept consistent with building a reputation in a small community of voice actors doing fan projects, original works or otherwise. The skills I learned in that first year is what I believe helped mend my current standing.Voice acting will always be near and dear to my heart. Watching myself improve and learn will always be one of my favourite parts, and I absolutely cannot wait to learn more in the future.I like to think 13-year-old me would be proud.
